The Dying Slave

THE DIVINE MICHELANGELO

Best known for his famous frescoes in the Vatican's Sisitine Chapel,
Michelangelo was foremost a sculptor producing an vast amount of work in his lifetime including David his masterpiece and the even more impressive Pieta Madonna which he sculpted from a solid peice of marble when he was just twenty four years old!

Michelangleo was able to do this because his time was his own, he devoted his his whole life to his art.

There is no one today than can match his talents. Why? because regardless of our skills and abilities we are all forced to waste most of our lives sacrificing our time to others and constanly having to justify our existence, filling out forms, shuffling paper, counting out pennies and standing in line or waiting on hold, being stuck in traffic or chained to a desk. In short we are all SLAVES to clocks and a bizarre dog-eat-dog rat-race system whereall our energy is spent standing still and getting us nowhere. It drains our time, our energy, our enthusiasm our passion and our health and ultimately our lives.

Because of this few people have the time to refine their skills to such a high degree of perfection as they did then, but today we can settle for millions of plastic replicas in a tacky souvenir shop! It's the same with architecture, once we could build grand cathedrals, now all we see is another glass hotel or office block, where is the skill the craftmanship or the pride these days?
