To the ancients, 'seven' often meant 'several'
before the 15th Century the seven seas were.

1. THE RED SEA

2. THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA

3. THE PERSIAN GULF

4. THE BLACK SEA

5. THE ADRIATIC SEA

6. THE CASPIAN SEA

7. THE INDIAN OCEAN

Today the world ocean is divided into four main oceans;
The Arctic, The Atlantic, The Pacific and The Indian Ocean
In addition there are numerous smaller seas and gulfs.
